Condensed Matter Physics

Is there anything fundamental to study when we talk about physics on a macroscopic scale?  Why should we expect any rules to change when we have more than just a few particles?  We understand well how a few particles interact quantum mechanically.  Can any new physics be found when we put billions and billions of these particles together?  That’s the challenge of condensed matter physics. The amazing thing is that more is different
